The University of Hawaii at Hilo ended pre-conference play with a 1-0 loss to Cal State East Bay on Oahu.

The Vulcans are 1-1 while the Pioneers are 1-0.

"It was a hard fought match," said UHH head coach Bryan Green. "The boys played hard. Unfortunately, we came up on the wrong end."

The Vulcans head to the Bay Area for five conference matches in 10 days - Notre Dame de Namur (Oct. 16), Dixie State (Oct. 18), Grand Canyon (Oct. 20), Academy of Art (Oct. 22) and Dominican (Oct. 24).
