The Vulcans kept the game close in the first half never trailing by more than eight points and entering the break just a basket behind at 32-30.
“We did a really good job defensively in the first half on the first shot,” UH Hilo Head Coach
David Kaneshiro said. “Offensively we started to see a rhythm at the end of the first half and were able to make some shots.”
But the second half start was a different story as the Antelopes went on a 20-5 that saw the Vulcans go through a scoreless six minutes.
The Vulcans return from their PacWest opening series to face the classroom work.
“After finals we need to get to work on being a more consistent defensive team,” Kaneshiro said. “I know we can do it and we have the potential to do it.”
Jameia McDuffie led the Vulcans with 12 points.
