Brandon Thomas' 17-point, 14-rebounds performance was not enough as the Vulcans dropped a 76-72 NCAA West Region game to Western Oregon University in the PacWest/GNAC Challenge in Honolulu, HI.
 
The senior forward was 6 of 8 from the field, and 5 of 6 from the free throw line.
 
Derek Owens chipped in 15 points aided by three 3-pointers. Jamario Clayton added 14 points while Darnell Williams had 12.
 
The Vulcans his 15 of 33 (.454) shots in the first half but went cold after the break with just 10 of 34 (.249) shots finding the bottom of the basket.
 
However, the Vulcans continued to take care of the ball committing just nine turnovers while forcing 16 by the Wolves.
