Box Score The University of Hawaii at Hilo dropped an 83-74 game to Fort Lewis College on the first day of the Naniloa Volcanoes Resort Thanksgiving Tournament.
 
"When we got the pace in our favor we were in good shape," UH Hilo Head Coach GE Coleman said. "But we didn't dictate the pace for 7–10 minutes throughout the game and that hurt us."
 
Joey Rodriguez led the Vulcans with 15 points while Derek Owens added 14 and Brandon Thomas had 11.
 
A first half battle ended in a 40-40 tie. That changed quickly as the Vulcans fell behind 49-40 on consecutive treys by the Skyhawks. Getting back into their game, the Vulcans clawed back to within four points with under a minute to go.
