Jazlyn Afusia and
Kamie Imai held the hot hands as the duo combined to hit 12 of 13 shots in the University of Hawaii at Hilo's 64-48 win over Chaminade University in a Pacific West Conference game in Honolulu, HI.
Afusia, a senior forward, was perfect from the field hitting 6 of 6 shots while adding a free throw. She led the Vulcans with 13 points.
Imai, a junior guard/forward, was 6 of 7 from the field for 12 points. She also pulled in a team-high 10 rebounds.
Kirsty Imai added 10 points.
The Vulcans led from the tip jumping out to a 7-0 lead before the Silverswords scored. The machine kept going as they expanded their lead to 22 before settling in with a 38-20 lead at the break.
“We did some good things throughout the game but obviously like any other game a lot of things to work on," UH Hilo Head Coach
David Kaneshiro said.
