Jordan Kurokawa pitches Vulcans to split with Azusa Pacific

The University of Hawaii at Hilo rode a Jordan Kurokawa's 7-hit, 5-strikeout performance to a 4-1 win in the game of a doubleheader with Azusa Pacific University while Jeremy Dela Cruz and Sheldon Shishido combined on a 5-hitter in a 1-0 loss in the night cap.
 
The freshman right-hander went 7.2 innings for his second win of the season giving up just one walk. Shishido picked up the save.
 
Will Cleary picked up a pair of hits and RBIs with his sacrifice bunt highlighting a 2-run third. Tyler Nitahara, Austin Cusack and Brad Fairweather also paired hits.
 
Dela Cruz went 7.2 innings in game two and struck out four batters while issuing three walks. Making his second appearance of the day, Shishido was saddled with the loss after giving up a run on one hit.
 
At the plate, Nitahara and Fairweather picked up two hits each in the Vulcans 7-hit performance which stranded eight base runners.
