The University of Hawaii at Hilo's post-season run was ended today by Sonoma State University's 8-0 knockout in the NCAA Division II West 2 Regional in St. George, UT.
The Vulcans continued to struggle at the plate with just three hits in the 5-inning game. In their tournament opening 14-5 loss, the Vulcans produced seven hits over the same innings,.
On the field, the Vulcans couldn't find the handle on the ball committing three errors today and an error yesterday.
“What you saw was an inconsistent performance across the board,” UH Hilo Head Coach
Jaime Wallin said. “And when you get to this level there is no room for that.
“I think we're an intelligent and talented team. Now we have to take the lesson's that we have learned from this experience and apply them to become a better team.”
