Dalen Yamauchi has qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championship, May 20-24 at the Hershey Country Club in Hershey, Pa.
Yamauchi (So., Hilo, HI/Waiakea HS) finished in fifth place at the NCAA Division II Men's Golf South Central/West Regional being held at The Home Course in DuPont, WA, with a 3-round total of 2-under-par 211 (70-67-74).
While the Vulcans didn't qualify for the championship with a 6
th place finish at the Regional, Yamauchi was one of two individuals from non-qualifying teams to earn a spot in the tournament.
Jamie Hall tied for 31
st place at 218 (70-79-69) while also in the field were
Chris Shimomura (T44, 72-75-73=220),
Corey Kozuma (T61, 78-73-71=222) and
Kyeton Littel (T78, 79-72-75=226).
Cal State Monterey Bay won the team title at 854. Also qualifying for the tournament were Western Washington (855), Grand Canyon (856), Colorado-Colorado Springs (861) and Cal State Stanislaus (863).
