Freshmen lead Vulcans to a 2-0 start

Marley Strand-Nicolaisen, Kyndra Trevino-Scott and Sienna Davis have led the University of Hawaii at Hilo to a 2-0 mark as the Vulcans defeated the University of Alaska Anchorage in straight sets, 25-22, 26-24, 25-20.
 
Davis ran the offense with 29 assists and provided 5 kills on 7 attempts with no errors. Strand-Nicolaisen took 42 swings connecting on 20 for kills with only five errors. Trevino-Scott was once again efficient with 10 kills on 16 attempts with no errors for a .625 attack percentage.
 
"We did a lot of good things out there and we told them if we can keep improving we'll be a nice team at the end of the year," UH Hilo Head Coach Tino Reyes said. "They're on a good path now."
 
In two matches, Trevino-Scott is 19 of 27 with no errors. She also has seven block assists.
 
Defensively, Callie Aberle had 11 digs while Kahealani Vento-Rowe had 10 digs.
