Hawai'i Hilo Vulcans Athletics

Senior outfielder Kyle Yamada played a key role as the Vulcans won three out of four games at home against Fresno Pacific, to improve to 5-5 in the Pacific West Conference. He went 7-for-15 over the four games to move his average from .306 to .328, with four RBI. On Saturday night, he cleared the bases in the bottom of the ninth with a triple and then scampered home with the winning run on a throwing error to give the Vulcans a miracle 5-4 win. The Loomis, Calif. native leads the Vulcans in batting average, runs scored (12) and RBI (14).
