Senior tennis player Arturo Dell`Eva had a solid start against two of the top teams in the country over the weekend at the Mauna Lani Tennis Club. During a 4-3 team loss to UC San Diego, the Italian native rolled to a singles win at No. 3, defeating Neil Tenbumroong, 6-2, 6-2. Earlier in the day, he teamed with Alan Cincunegui to win easily at No. 3 doubles, 6-2. Against No. 9 ranked Hawaii Pacific, Dell`Eva and Cincunegui won again in doubles play, getting by Cheng-Chieh Wang and Ryohei Arai (6-4). In singles play, he went three tough sets with Marcel Hornung before falling 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 for his only loss of the weekend as the Vulcans fell to the Sharks, 5-2.
