Hawai'i Hilo Vulcans Athletics

Shaun Kekai Mahiko spent five years in the Vulcan baseball program, including his COVID-19 shortened senior season. The Kailua native came to UH HIlo in the Fall of 2015 after graduating from University Laboratory School in Honolulu. Over the course of the next five years (he redshirted in 2017), he was always a solid option out of the bullpen for head coach Kallen Miyataki. He pitched in 25 games, all but one in relief. The 6-foot-2 righthander had a 3.37 ERA in 2018 and walked just two batters in 11 innings as a junior in 2019. Mahiko graduated this Spring with a degree in Agriculture/Aquaculture specialty.
