Vulcan tennis player Martin Soukal was a perfect 3-0 at No. 1 singles in matches at last week's Pacific West Conference Championships. He pulled off the biggest upset of the PacWest season in the championship match, defeating No. 4 nationally ranked and undefeated Jakob Schnaitter of Azusa Pacific. Soukal, ranked No. 33 in the latest ITA ranking, won in straight sets (6-3, 6-3) over the two-time PacWest Player of the Year. Schnaitter hadn't dropped a set all season in running to 17-0, and had beaten Soukal the first time they played, The 6-foot-5 Czech Republic native also had wins over Biola's Alexi Prokopchuk (6-1, 6-3) and Hawaii Pacific's Benjamin Loccisano, 1-6, 6-2, 6-2.
