Hawai'i Hilo Vulcans Athletics

UH Hilo centerfielder Vevesi Liilii crushed the ball during the NCAA West Region tournament last week in Irvine, Calif. The senior went yard three times, including once each in upsets over Western Washington and No. 1 seed Concordia. She was 4-for-11 in the four games, scored four times, and drove in five runs. Two of her home runs came against the two top pitchers in the region--WWU's Anna Kasner and CUI's Callie Nunes, both the Pitcher's of the Year in their respective conferences. The Aiea, Oahu native hit .321 this season and led the Vulcans in home runs (5) and RBI (27). In her UHH career, covering parts of three seasons, she finished with 13 career home runs.
