Freshman guard Will Burghardt made a big splash over the weekend, coming off the bench to rain down nine three-pointers during a pair of Vulcan wins over Fresno Pacific and Dominican. Against the Sunbirds, he drilled seven-of-ten treys and scored a career-high 23 points. He had five of those three's during an 11-minute span in the first half. Versus the Penguins, he nailed a pair of treys in the second half to help UHH overcome a nine-point deficit and take the lead. He finished with 12 points in the game. The Longview, Wash. native totaled 35 points in the two games and had four assists.
