John Kea played a significant role during UH Hilo's successful road trip to Academy of Art and Holy Names. During the Vulcans' current five-game win streak, the redshirt-freshman had saves in four of those contests. In his last four appearances, the Honolulu native pitched 5.2 innings, struck out five, gave up just one run and notched a save in each. In UH Hilo's 6-5 win over the Hawks on Saturday, Kea had a two-inning save, allowing no runs and just one hit. On the season, he lists second in the PacWest with nine saves.
