Your final Pepsi Athlete of the Week morphs into the Male Pepsi Athlete of the Year award. Phillip Steering capped a brilliant UH Hilo baseball career with a stellar senior season, hitting .363 with 15 doubles and ten home runs. The ten bombs is a UHH single-season school record, and his 18 career home runs is the Vulcan's all-time mark. He posted a slugging percentage of .655 and had a .478 on-base percentage, leading his team in almost all offensive categories, including stolen bases (10). He was a top five leader in the PacWest in a number of categories as well. He is a First-Team All-District Academic selection, with more awards coming in way in the coming weeks.
