Season ends 8th in Region

The University of Hawaii at Hilo's golf season ends in 8th place after the first round of the NCAA Division II Men's Central/West Region Championship no the Wigwam Golf Course in Litchfield Park, Ariz.

[Final Round]

Corey Kozuma continued to lead the Vulcans after the final round with a 3-over-par 75 to finish the three day event in a tie for 21st place at 221 (72-74-75).
 
Travis Russell was next on the board and tied for 29th place at 224 (77-73-74) followed by Jamie Hall (76-74-76) and Dalen Yamauchi (75-74-77) at 226 and tied for 42nd place. Chris Shimomura was tied for 89th place at 236 (77-83-76).
 
Cal State Stanislaus won the team title with an 865. They were followed by Chico Staet (869), Colorado School of Mines (871), Western Washington (876), Grand Canyon (877), Dixie State (886), Cal State Monterey Bay (889), Hawaii Hilo (896), Colorado State-Pueblo (898), Cal State East Bay (905), Colorado-Colorado Springs (906), Colorado Mesa (909), Bemidji State (910), UC San Diego (911), St. Cloud State (912) and Minnesota State-Mankato.
