Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Soccer squad wins third straight, tops Hawks 3-0

OAKLAND, Calif.—Sophie Satterlee scored her first two goals of the season and Astrid Perez added a score and an assist to help the Hawai`i Hilo Vulcans end their women's soccer season on an ultra-positive note with a 3-0 win over Holy Names.

The Vulcans ended the season on a three-match winning streak, wrapping up the year with a 5-7-4 overall record and a 3-6-4 mark in the Pacific West Conference. The host Hawks dropped their ninth in a row and finished the year 1-15-1 and 1-12-0 in league play.

Jenna Hufford recorded her second straight shutout in the goal for the Vulcans and her fourth of the year, who sent seven seniors out in style as they put a wrap on their collegiate careers on a Saturday afternoon at T-Bird Stadium in Oakland.

Satterlee, a junior defender who had only three shots on goal all year before today, got her team on board early in the 22nd minute, with assists going to Abcde Zoller and Kayela Santiago. The score remained 1-0 at the halftime break, but Satterlee scored again in the 57th minute, this time taking a pass from Perez.

Perez joined the fun in the 64th minute, scoring her first tally of the season.

Hufford had seven saves on the day, giving her 99 for the season.

The Vulcans had 25 shots on the day, 11 of them on goal. The Hawks had 18 shots, seven of them on goal.

On the year, UHH lost five matches by one goal, and tied four others.

Seven seniors are on the Vulcan roster in 2016—Zoller, Jennifer Mendez, Annabel Gonzalez, Nicole Statham, Kailah Buchanan, Destini Soares and Madison Shaw.
