HILO, Hawai'i--
Point Loma (9-3-2, 6-1-1 PacWest) is going home with a 1-0 win over the Vulcans (4-7-1, 2-5-1 PacWest). The Sea Lions' Parker Scalzo scored in the 17th minute of the match to give PLU the go-ahead lead which they held to secure the win.

Although PLU carried the 1-0 lead, there were several moments where UH Hilo almost broke through. UHH had two goal opportunities in the last four minutes of regulation. Caesar Hjerten and Luca Lippert both had shots that just missed the net.

The stats were also pretty much even. Both the Vulcans and Sea Lions had 10 shots. PLU had three on goal to the Vulcans' one.

The match was also aggressive. The Vulcans, struggling to break through PLU's defense, received four yellow cards in the last twenty minutes.

UHH goalkeeper Michael Harre had two saves in the defensive battle, keeping his team in the match.

The men's soccer team plays next Sunday, Nov. 7 at 2:30 pm HT at home.
