Vulcan women's soccer standout
Jodi Lillie has been named to the prestigious Co-SIDA Academic All-District 8 team, announced today.
The UH Hilo defender turned forward was the only Vulcan player named to the team. She was also one of only three Pacific West Conference players selected to the squad, which includes players from the NCAA Division II West Region---the PacWest, the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and the California Collegiate Athletic Association.Â
This year, because of shortened COVID seasons, the nominees were selected based on their career accomplishments, along with their overall collegiate grade point averages.
Lillie is a third-year junior from Mililani, Oahu. She was a First Team All-PacWest selection as a freshman in 2018 and a Second-Team choice in 2019, and led the Vulcans this past spring with two goals in four matches. She scored both of those in the second half of the spring season finale, rallying UHH from a 2-0 deficit to a 2-2 tie with Hawaii Pacific. Playing the past two seasons as a defender, she has moved to the midfield this year.
She also had a 3.75 GPA through the spring semester in her degree of Business.Â
Lillie is a former Hawaii Girls Soccer Defensive Player of the Year. Her Mililani Trojan team won three-time OIA Division I state titles.Â
She will now be forwarded to the national ballot for Co-SIDA Academic All-American consideration.Â
