Filippa Graneld tallied two goals and also had two assists last week to help earn her today's Pacific West Conference Player of the Week honors.
Graneld had a hand in three of UH Hilo's four goals during a 4-0 win over Hawai`i Pacific on Sunday, and also had the winning goal last Tuesday (Sept. 7) at San Francisco State. The Stockholm, Sweden native had the second goal of the day against the Sharks and had assists to help lead to goals three and four on the day as the Vulcans routed the Sharks.
Against the Gators, the Colorado University transfer broke open a scoreless match with a goal in the 88th minute to give UH Hilo a 1-0 victory. A 5-foot-8 forward, Graneld had 12 total shots in the two matches, including seven on goal.Â
The Vulcans will go for their third straight victory this Thursday (Sept. 16) with a 10 am match at Chaminade.
