HILO, Hawai'i– The UH Hilo women's basketball team faces Dominican tomorrow, Jan. 16 at 5 pm HST in the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.
Second in Pacific West Conference
The Vulcans (6-2, 3-1 PacWest) moved up to second place in the PacWest Conference standings after their 66-58 victory over Academy of Art. The Red and Black are on a four-game winning streak, looking to pick up their fifth win tomorrow against the Penguins.
Vulcan PacWest Stat Leaders
UHH has two PacWest statistical leaders: Mandi Kawaha and Nikki Miller.
Kawaha is in the top five of several categories. She is the third highest scorer in the conference behind CUI's Michaela VanderKlugt and Dominican's Riley Friauf. Kawaha also has the highest free throw percentage and the second most assists in the league.
Nikki Miller is the leader of the PacWest Conference boards averaging 11.6 a game.
Penguin Plunge
Dominican (8-7, 5-3 PacWest) is currently sixth in the conference. The Penguins also have two statistical leaders Riley Friauf and Abreanna Lake. Driauf is also a top five leader in several categories including scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, and free throw percentage.
DU's Lake is the conference's steals leader averaging 2.4 a game.
