WAHIAWA, Hawai'i – Keith Ng shot a 66 on day two to leap 16 spots for a sixth-place finish to help lead the Hawai'i Hilo men's golf team to a tie for 11th place at the Southwest Airlines HPU Sharks Shootout this week at the Leilehua Golf Course.
Ng was the only golfer to post a 66 round score after the senior had finished even after round one.
Chico State finished tied at the top with Stanislaus State after totaling 558 for an 18-under finish. The Wildcats were crowned winners after winning the team tiebreaker.
For the individual crown, Stanislaus State's Chris Ebster edged Chico State's Tyler Ashman in the tiebreaker after both totaled 135 for a minus-nine finish.
Pacific West Conference mates Hawai'i Pacific (295–295) and Chaminade (304–306) finished behind the Vulcans at No. 14 and No. 16, respectively.
Hawai'i Hilo will close out the fall 2022 season at home with the Dennis Rose Invitational this weekend, Oct. 28-29 at the Waikoloa Golf Course.
