Five Vulcans Voted to D2 CCA All-West Region Team

Grace VerHage, Daelenn Tokunaga, Jodi Lillie, Lolo Retsky and Filippa Graneld earned All-Region honors.

SAN FRANCISCO, California – Five Hawai'i Hilo women's soccer players were voted to the 2022 Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) All-West Region Teams released Tuesday morning.

Landing on the First Team were Grace VerHage, Daelenn Tokunaga, Jodi Lillie and Lolo Retsky. Filippa Graneld received Second Team honors as the five total selections led all schools in the region.

Tokunaga, Lillie and Graneld are repeat honorees after earning team selections a season ago. Fifth-year transfer VerHage received All-Midwest Region First Team accolades last year at Ferris State University.

Sonoma State sophomore Lexi Zandonella-Arasa was voted as CCA West Region Player of the Year.

The 13 members of the All-West Region First Team will now be placed on the national ballot for All-America consideration. The All-America teams will be released Wednesday, Nov. 30.

There were 10 repeat honorees in 2022 and a total of 12 institutions had at least one student-athlete named to the 13-member first or second team. Hawai'i Hilo led all programs with five selections. Western Washington followed with four. Cal State LA and Sonoma State all earned three selections. Northwest Nazarene, Point Loma and Stanislaus State each claimed a pair. Azusa Pacific, Cal State Monterey Bay, Concordia, Fresno Pacific and Western Oregon each saw one student-athlete named to the team.

Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association

The D2 CCA Player of the Year award and all-region teams are nominated and selected by members of the region's athletics communications staffs.

The D2 CCA encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of high education. The D2 CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact NCAA Division II athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
