Volleyball Continues with Straight-Sets Victory Over Biola

HILO, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Hilo Women's Volleyball extended its win streak to seven games with a sweep of Biola (25-23, 25-16, 25-17) Saturday night in Pacific West Conference action at the Vulcan Gymnasium.

The Vulcans are now 7-1 in conference play and sit at No. 3 just under midway through the regular season.

NOTABLE NUMBERS

  • Six kills brought Samara Cruz's career total to 896, moving up to No. 8 all-time in program history — surpassing Fabiane Seben's (07-09) mark of 895.
  • Assists: Maya Imoto-Eakin (16); Emerson Reinke (11)
  • Taylor Tullo: Team-leading 10 kills, hitting six of them in Set 2.
  • Chase Kopeke: Nine kills (.375), five in Set 1; three blocks.
  • Isabella Freeman: Five kills (.375); four blocks.

UP NEXT

Hawai'i Hilo moved to 7-1 in the PacWest (12-6 overall) as Biola moved to a 2-6 conference record (4-12 overall).

The Vulcans host HPU on Monday, Oct. 14 before hopping to O'ahu to take on Chaminade (Oct. 19) and the Sharks (Oct. 20). Hawai'i Hilo will then return for another four-game home slate against Concordia (Oct. 24), Point Loma (Oct. 26), Jessup (Oct. 30) and Fresno Pacific (Nov. 2).
