SANTA BARBARA, California – No. 23 Hawai'i Hilo Women's Soccer fell for the first time this season, 3-1, to Westmont Saturday afternoon in Pacific West Conference play at Thorrington Field.
Filippa Graneld got the Vulcans on the scoreboard first with a goal in the 11th minute on an assist from Teani Arakawa.
The Warriors managed to answer right back two minutes later and piled on two more scores in the 23rd and 46th minutes.
No. 23 Hawai'i Hilo moved to a 7-1-1 record in the PacWest (10-1-3 overall) as Westmont moved to a 6-2-0 conference record (6-7-2 overall). Despite the loss, Hawai'i Hilo remained atop the PacWest standings with 22 points.
OTHER NOTES
- Arakawa brought her career assists total to 15, moving to No. 2 all-time in program history behind Graneld.
- Graneld's goal brought her career points total to 54, moving to No. 2 in the record books behind Arakawa. Graneld also moved to a three-way tie at No. 4 with 17 career goals — tied with Megan Pachecano (07-08) and Alyssa Padron (21-24).
- The Vulcans had their 16-game unbeaten streak broken with Saturday's loss.
