CALIFORNIA – Senior Nadjrick Peat was selected as Pacific West Conference Defender of the Week after Hawai'i Hilo Men's Basketball split its O'ahu road trip to open conference play.
Between the two contests, Peat collected eight blocks, 20 rebounds and 24 points in a loss to HPU and a victory over Chaminade. Peat tallied six blocks against the Silverswords to once again tie the program single-game record with his season-opening Nov. 1 outing against Simon Fraser and Tre Johnson's Jan. 2015 performance against Fresno Pacific.
Following the weekend, Peat came in nationally ranked in Division II at No. 3 for blocks per game (3.00), No. 5 for total blocks (27), No. 12 total rebounds (85) and No. 19 rebounds per game (9.4).
The Jamaica native also grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds against the Silverswords for his ninth career double-double.
This is the fourth time Peat has been selected for the PacWest weekly honor after being awarded three times in 2022-23 before ultimately being named Defender of the Year.
