CALIFORNIA – Hawai'i Hilo Softball was voted No. 3 in the 2025 Pacific West Conference Preseason Coaches Poll released Wednesday afternoon.
The Vulcans are coming off a 26-17 campaign, finishing No. 3 in the regular season standings (18-10 PacWest) with a third-place finish at the subsequent PacWest Championships postseason tournament. Hawai'i Hilo boasted four All-PacWest Team selections and returns 16 total players for head coach Aisha Sueda's fourth season.

Landing third in the preview is Hawai'i Hilo (88 points), who was sixth in the 2024 preseason poll but finished third in the conference and won a game at the PacWest tournament. Head coach Aisha Sueda has 16 players back from that squad and only lost five. That impressive returnee list includes Rayna White (.348), Lexie Tilton (.347), Victoria Macias (39 RBI), Jayda Favela (32 runs) and the 1-2 pitching punch of Chloe Sales (2.11 ERA) and Tehani Seto (2.20). Macias was second in the PacWest RBI totals and Favela was second in runs scored.
Voted ahead was three-time defending regular-season champ Concordia followed by Azusa Pacific.
Hawai'i Hilo hosts its annual Alumni Game this Saturday, Jan. 25 at the on-campus Vulcan Softball Field. Season officially starts Jan. 31-Feb. 2 in Irvine, California followed by 11 contest on O'ahu with the home opener set for Feb. 26 against HPU.
