HILO, Hawai'i – Haley Clark blasted in the equalizing goal with minutes to spare as Hawai'i Hilo Women's Soccer played to a 1-1 draw with Concordia University Irvine on Saturday afternoon in Pacific West Conference play at the Vulcan Soccer Field.
It was another marquee matchup here in Hilo in just a matter of days (Vulcans tied with defending champ Point Loma last Thursday) with both teams entering the match with identical conference records near the top of the PacWest standings.
After a scoreless opening half, CUI got on the scoreboard in the 49th minute with Avery Munoz getting a shot past the right edge of the goal.
The score remained through the next 39 minutes but the Vulcans were relentless down the stretch and kept attacking. Finally, Clark got the ball on a nth-chance opportunity and sent it flying in over the keeper's head and in for the score in the 88th minute.
