WAIPAHU, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Hilo Men's Soccer closed out regular-season play with a 3-0 win over HPU on Saturday afternoon in Pacific West Conference play at the Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Stadium.
Due to results around the league earlier in the day, the Vulcans had already clinched one of four spots in next week's PacWest Conference Championships postseason tournament entering Saturday's match.
Goal scorers: Kanata Taira (35'), Jakob Santiago (37'), Koki Hamada (56').
Paul Waschkau and Adam Frank again combined for a consecutive team shutout in goal.
Hawai'i Hilo joins Vanguard, Fresno Pacific and Point Loma in the conference postseason tournament set for Nov. 13 and 15 at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California.
