Men's Basketball Takes Down CUI to Advance to Semifinals

SAN RAFAEL, California – Hawai'i Hilo Men's Basketball advanced to the Pacific West Conference Championships Semifinal Round after taking down Concordia, 70-61, Thursday evening in First Round action at Dominican University's Conlan Center.

Andre Norris put through seven of the Vulcans' final nine points, first finding an open lane under the basket for the go-ahead layup off an assist by Brody Davis to break a 59-all score with just over three minutes left. Both teams went empty from the field over the next two and a half minutes until Norris hit a deep 3-pointer with 55 seconds to go.

CUI was forced to foul in an effort to save its season, but Julio Montes II and Norris combined to sink six free throws to put the victory away.
