LA MIRADA, California – Hawai'i Hilo Baseball capped its final road trip of the season with a 6-3 victory over Biola to head home with a win after dropping the first three games of the series at the BU Eagles Diamond.
The Vulcans tallied up 13 hits and did all their scoring through the first four innings — most of it coming as part of a six-hit five-run top-of-the-third frame. Arthur Soto provided the eventual game-winning run on a RBI base hit as part of a three-hit outing.
Xavier Pressley was tagged with the victory in 2.2 innings of work with two unearned runs allowed. Braden Lowe earned his first save after entering in the bottom of the fourth with a four-run lead and the bases loaded to induce an inning-ending groundout. The side-arm slinger went the final 3.1 innings with one unearned run allowed.
In the prior three games of the series, the Vulcans fell by scores of 4-2, 6-3 and 10-3.
Hawai'i Hilo moved to 9-30 in PacWest play (11-34 overall) as Biola moved to a 20-21 (conference record (23-24 overall).
