HILO, Hawai'i – The two-time national champion University of Hawai'i at Manoa Men's Volleyball team is coming to town on Saturday, Oct. 4 for an intrasquad scrimmage presented by Big Island Candies with Hawaiian Airlines and Hilo Hawaiian Hotel.
The inter-island showcase will follow an inter-island battle of Hawai'i Division-II schools as the University of Hawai'i at Hilo Women's Volleyball team hosts defending Pacific West Conference champion Chaminade starting at 2 p.m. inside the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium. The UH Manoa Rainbow Warriors will take to the court following the conclusion of the women's match.
"It's an honor to be able to welcome the UH Manoa Men's Volleyball team to Hilo for this special scrimmage," first-year Vulcans Volleyball head coach Reed Sunahara said. "Anytime we get to showcase high-level volleyball in our community, it's a win not just for the fans, but also for the sport across the islands."
Tickets are available at HiloAthletics.com/tickets. Only one ticket purchase for either event will be required to attend. Vulcans Volleyball season ticket holders receive admission at no additional cost.

Earlier in the day, fans are invited for a photo opportunity session hosted by Big Island Candies starting 10 a.m. at their Hilo Flagship Store on Hinano Street.
The UH Manoa Men's Volleyball team enters its 17th season under head coach Charlie Wade and is coming off claiming its fourth Big West Conference title with a finish in the NCAA National Championship semifinals. The Rainbow Warriors captured back-to-back National Championships in 2021 and 2022.
