Berney Powers Women's Soccer Past Warriors

ROCKLIN, California – Sophomore Mia Berney scored her first two collegiate goals to power Hawai'i Hilo Women's Soccer past Jessup, 2-0, Monday afternoon in Pacific West Conference action at Warrior Field.

Berney found the back of the net in the 32nd and 52nd minutes — taking advantage of Jessup passing miscues and applying the pressure to flick a shot past the keeper before later heading in the ball off an initial pass from Makenna Maloy.

The Vulcans totaled nine shots to just three from the Warriors (one on goal) as Lydia Keller recorded her fifth shutout of the season (and her career), already moving into No. 8 in the program career record books and No. 6 for single-season shutouts.
