KOHALA COAST, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Hilo Men's Golf finished runner-up at the Punahele Jerky Company Inc. Invitational hosted by the Vulcans at Mauna Lani Resort Golf Club North Course on Monday and Tuesday.

The Vulcans posted rounds of 285, 284 and 280 to finish 15-under, improving by four strokes in the final round. UHH (-7) found itself in third place behind No. 2 Menlo (-11) and No. 1 Cal State San Bernardino (-21) heading into the final day. The Vulcans drew even with the Oaks after eight holes of the final round and went ahead for good after 10. CSUSB played its final nine holes at six-over while the Vulcans played theirs six-under to close the gap to nine shots back.

Dysen Park led the Vulcans, tying for No. 5 overall at seven-under (72–69–68). Park, tied for 19th after an even-par first round, moved to a tie for No. 10 with a 69 second round. The senior closed with a 68 with five birdies to pass five golfers. The final two-round score of minus-seven tied five other golfers for the second-best score in the program record book.

Katsuhiro Yamashita tied for No. 9 at four-under, breaking par in all three rounds (71–70–71) with four birdies in each for a career-low 212. Ben Crinella opened with a 69 to sit tied for eighth and finished tied for No. 16 at two-under. Yamashita and Crinella were also tied for 10th after two rounds, and the three each made 12 birdies.
