CLEVELAND, Ohio – Hawai'i Hilo placed 75 student-athletes on the 2025-26 Division II Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Awards list for achieving a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
"Our student-athletes continue to showcase an extraordinary commitment to excellence both in the classroom and in competition," Hawai'i Hilo director of athletics Patrick Guillen said. "Balancing a full-time academic schedule with rigorous practice schedules, extensive travel demands and active engagement in our Big Island community is a remarkable achievement.
"This recognition highlights their discipline, resilience and dedication, as well as the unwavering support of our coaches, staff and faculty. We could not be prouder of these our student-athletes for representing UH Hilo with such distinction."
Hawai'i Hilo's 75 honorees were part of a national total of more than 21,000 student-athletes recognized from 179 institutions. Now in its 19th year, the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award has recognized 211,256 total student-athletes since its inception.
This year's total reflecting the 2025-26 school year was one shy of matching the Vulcans' record high number of student-athletes set in 2024-25.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 scale
- Minimum of two years (four semesters) of college-level work completed
- Active member of an intercollegiate team during their most recent academic year
