HILO, Hawai'i – Due to safety concerns with the approach of Hurricane Nolo, the upcoming Hawai'i Hilo Women's Volleyball match against HPU on Sunday, Sept. 27 has been postponed to a later date. The Vulcan Booster Club's "A Night of Champions" event scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26 and the UH Manoa Men's Volleyball intrasquad scrimmage on Sunday have also been canceled.
A photo meet and greet session scheduled at Big Island Candies is also canceled.
"This is a difficult decision to make as we know how much our community was looking forward to this weekend's activities," Hawai'i Hilo director of athletics Patrick Guillen said. "However, the safety of our community, student-athletes and supporters always comes first."
Volleyball match tickets purchased online will be refunded automatically through the AudienceView platform. For in-person purchases, contact the Vulcans Ticket Office at 808-932-7802.
Tickets and table purchases for the "A Night of Champions" dinner will be processed for a refund in the coming days.
The Vulcans will remain in Hilo for an upcoming five-match home stand to be played at the on-campus Vulcan Gymnasium.
(UPDATE 9/27/26): Oct. 1 and Oct. 3 matches will be at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium
