Garett Yukumoto joined the Vulcan baseball staff after a longtime career as the head coach at Hawai`i Pacific University, now serving as the Associate Head Coach at Hawai`i HIlo.
Yukumoto led the Shark program from 2006-18. His run included a 2010 Pacific West Conference Championship and career coaching mark of 362-272-4. Prior to that, he was the head coach at Leilehua High School, 2000-2005. He was named the OIA West Coach of the Year in 2000 and 2004.
He is also an assistant coach for the Hawai‘i Island Movers collegiate summer league baseball program, and currently is a principal at Iliahi Elementary School in Wahiawa.
Yukumoto graduated with a degree from Hawaii Pacific University in Human Resource Management in 1993 and played at HPU from 1991-93.
Garett is married to wife Darcy, and they have two sons, Trey (20) and Ty (15).
