Warren Arakaki joined the University of Hawaii at Hilo baseball coach staff in December 2014.
 
A graduate of Hilo High School, Arakaki earned first-team NAIA All-American honors as a second baseman in 1980 at Pacific University after leading the Northwest Conference with a then-school record .456 batting average. That same year, he was a nominee for the prestigious Baseball Federation’s Golden Spikes Award for the top collegiate baseball player in the United States. Arakaki was named to the 1982 first-team Academic All-American with a batting average of .403. A three-time All-Northwest Conference First Team selection (1980, 1981, and 1982), Arakaki was twice named Pacific’s most valuable player.
 
Arakaki is owner of Arakaki Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation in Hilo.
