*Matthew Haasenritter* joined the University of Hawaii at Hilo staff on February 12, 2010 as an assistant coach. A four-year player for the Vulcans, Haasenritter was a cornerstone of the team. In his senior season, and the programs first in the NCAA Division II, he earned all-conference recognition with a .392 batting average and 29 RBI as a catcher/designated hitter. Following his graduation from UHH in spring 2009 with a degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science, he pursued his master’s degree at Sacramento State University. *CAREER HIGHLIGHTS* AT UHH Batted .392 in 2009 with 29 RBI ... started 36 games ... had 12 doubles and 4 homeruns ... collected 159 putouts and 21 assists with only 2 errors ... started 28 games and batted .200 with 11 RBI and three doubles ... appeared in eight games in 2007 ... batted .207 with a double, home run and four RBI ... played in 26 games, starting 13 in 2006 ... hit .152 with eight hits, a double, three walks, and three RBI... had three-game hitting streak from Mar. 6-18...best performance at the plate was 1-for-1 with a RBI against California (Mar. 18)... defensively committed just three errors in 48 chances for a .938 fielding percentage...poste 38 putouts and 7 assists.
