Jamison Montgomery arrived to the Big Island in August 2020 as an assistant coach with the Hawai‘i Hilo Men's Basketball program and head coach Kaniela Aiona.

After three seasons, Montgomery was elevated to associate head coach in May 2023.

Montgomery also served as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Advisor.
