One of the best players in Vulcan tennis history returned to the program as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's programs.
Over three seasons (2017-19) in the Vulcan program, the Czech Republic native went 46-15 in singles and 47-17 in doubles. He played on court No. 1 in both, helping lead the Vulcans to a pair of national tournament appearances, including a Final Four slot in 2019.
Slezak earned First Team All-Pacific West Conference honors all three seasons. He won the Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award as a junior, and was named the PacWest Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore after transferring from Division I Troy University.
Slezak was also an ace in the classroom, earning NCAA Division II Academic All-American honors, along with three Pacific West Conference All-Academic Team selections. He graduated with a 3.35 grade point average in his major of Business Marketing.Â
Slezak became Lizama-Slezak in 2020 when he married former Vulcan star volleyball player Kaila Lizama.
