Patti “Peejay” Brun
 was appointed University of Hawaii at Hilo Head Softball Coach effective September 5, 2014.

The former Texas State University-San Marcos’s assistant coach since 2006, Brun has over 12 years coaching on the NCAA Division I level which includes four years as Siena College’s Head Coach from 2002-06.
 
TSU-SM won five Sunbelt Conference championships and made three Regional appearances during her eight seasons. They produced 40 all-Conference, nine NFCA all-Region, 16 all-Academic and one CoSIDA academic all-District athletes. Eleven of their players claimed all-conference player of the year honors.
 
In her first year at Siena, her team recorded the most single-season and conference wins in a season and the programs highest conference finish. Brun took the program to their first post-season conference championship and developed two NFCA all-Region, nine all-Conference, 14 NFCA all-Academic and six NFCA all-American Scholar athletes. While establishing most school records on the field, her team consistently held a team GPA above 3.0 and fundraised over $25,000 annually.
 
Off the field, she coordinated Siena’s CHAMPS/Life Skills program and created the S.A.IN.T.S Cup (Supporting Athletes IN Their Success) which developed student-athletes into mentors and community members.
 
Brun broke into collegiate coaching as an assistant coach at Cal State Dominguez Hills. During her three years on the staff, she helped the Toros develop 15 all-conference players and developed corporate sponsors for the program. Brun develop a comprehensive student-athlete study hall and provided academic advice. She also monitored NCAA and conference rules and regulations.
 
Her coaching career began as an assistant coach at Moanalua High School (1995-96) in Honolulu, HI and Encinal High School (1996-98) in Alameda, CA. In 2000, she was the Solvesborg (Sweden) Softball Club Head Coach.
 
On the community side, Brun has over 25 years of participating in camps. She was the camp director of the Ricci Woodard Softball Camps (2006-present), Siena College Camps (2003-06) and Cal State Dominguez Hills Camps (199-2002). She was also an instructor at the UC Berkeley Camp (1994) and University of Hawaii camp (1990-94).
 
A four-year player at Hawaii, she was selected 1994’s NCAA Woman of the Year-Hawaii.
 
Brun garnered her Cal State Dominguez Hill’s Physical Education Administration Master of Administration in 2002 and her University of Hawaii Music Bachelor of Arts in 1994.
