Heading into the 2021 season, Tracy Miyashiro has worked with the Vulcan softball program for five seasons.
Active as a local coach and player for many years, Miyashiro has been the head coach for the Nobu Yamauchi RBI League travel team since 2013 and was an assistant prior to that. That program has been to the RBI World Series seven times and won the title in 2009.
A Hilo High School graduate, Miyashiro served in the U.S. Army from 1981-85. He has worked for The Research Corporations for the University of Hawai'i and also with Mauna Kea Observatory Support Services.
A long-time slow pitch and fastpich softball player, he started coaching youth softball in 2006.
Miyashiro also donates his time and handyman skills for numerous projects around the athletic complex.
