Hawai'i Hilo Vulcans Athletics

2021 (Spring)
Ran in all three races that the Vulcans competed in during the short COVID season...Improved her 5K time with each race...Ran 23:04 in the finale on Oahu, finishing seven overall and fourth for the Vulcans...Was UHH's third runner to cross the line at the UH Hilo Invite in 23:45...Named to PacWest All-Academic Team.

2019
Had a late racing start as a sophomore because of injuries....Ran in four races...Even with later start, ran faster in each race than the year previous-- HPU 5K  (22:39), UH Invite 6K (26:26) and PacWest Championships 6K (25:08)...Was one of three Vulcan runners to compete at the NCAA West Region Championships in Monmouth, Oregon...Kawaiaea was UHH's third runner at HPU and the west regional, and was the second Vulcan to cross the finish line at UHH and PacWest...Named to PacWest All-Academic team. 

2018
Raced in all six races for the Vulcans as a freshman...Had a 5K best of 21:02 at the Coyote Challenge...Clocked at 25:51 at the PacWest Championships...Named All-PacWest Academic. 

BEFORE UHH
2018 graduate of Nanakuli High School...Finished second at OIA cross country championships...First-Team OIA Cross Country All-Star...Crossed the line 17th at the state meet...Finished sixth in the 3,000 meters at the state track and field championships...Also participated in paddling...One of four girls from the OIA to earn the HMSA Kaimana Award.
