Francie Romano joined the Vulcan coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2017.
Romano has a long history in the sport of soccer as a coach, player and administrator. A Washington native, she helped organize the first women’s league for the All Nations Cup in Seattle. She spent four years coaching and playing for the America Women’s Team in the All Nations Tournament.
She worked for over 20 years at the Seattle Times newspaper before moving to Hawaii in 2015. She has co-hosted a radio show on The Beat FM and is currently working as a demonstrator and product promoter for BioAstin and Nutrex Hawaii. She also is a certified yoga instructor and teaches a class at UH Hilo.
Francie has two sons (Zachary and Jacob) and a grandson (Kai).
