Former Vulcan soccer player Joshua Woodard joined the UH Hilo coaching staff as an assistant in 2017. He assisted with both the men and women that fall, and began work with just the women's team in 2018.
Woodard played for the Vulcans in 2007 and 2008 as a defender. He came to Hilo from Waianae, Hawaii where he was a three-time OIA first-team selection.
Woodard is also the head girls soccer coach at Kamehameha School in Keaau, where the Warriors won the BIIF title last year, and he also works with the Hawaii Rush Big Island Soccer Club.
