Dr. Edward Gutteling has been the official orthopedic surgeon for University of Hawai‘i at Hilo Athletics since 1992.
His general surgical and orthopedic surgical residencies, as well as a fellowship in orthopedic research, were completed at the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey, before he returned to Hawai‘i. He has numerous publications in both the scientific and medical literature.
He is also a former Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery for the John A. Burns School of Medicine (University of Hawai‘i at Manoa), and currently on the community teaching faculty for the Hawai‘i Island Family Medicine Residency program.
