Ka‘ohimanu Dang Akiona, MD, is a Native Hawaiian, community-based Family Physician, researcher and mother. As a part of Premier Medical Group Hawai‘i, an independent medical practice founded by Dr Scott Miscovich, she leads community outreach and clinical operations which includes primary care, sports medicine, mobile health services and a street medicine program focusing on health care for the most vulnerable and marginalized. Her team has used innovative approaches to address disparities in and barriers to access and delivery of healthcare and have been at the leading edge of COVID developments across the care continuum and in a range of resource settings. Her professional interests also include health equity advocacy, cultural competency and patient-centered, integrative health models.
